23-27 July AIDS 2018 AMSTERDAM
“I will speak, I will speak!”
the multi-media exhibition
(Amsterdam, Beurs van Berlage, 22 July – 2 August 2018)
‘I will speak, I will speak!’ the exhibition welcomed more than 3000 visitors. People streamed to the Beurs van Berlage thanks to a lot of publicity. There were TV interviews (Hart van Nederland), promotion on the Internet, Atlas2018’s booth at the AIDS Congress, where we made 4000 contacts, newspaper articles in de Volkskrant and het Parool and interviews in international media like U&A AIDS Magazine in the USA, Italian press +31Mag.nl.
Visitors universally praised the professional multi-media presentation, created by Adrian Silvestri. In a spacious museum setting, the stories, the photos, the texts, the films projected on full-height screens could be viewed and shared in peace and quiet. Volunteers working as dedicated hosts guided the visitors and listened to their stories as they related them.
The exhibition is, with its unique form, a meeting place. The life stories of people living with HIV from all 5 continents make a big impact. It is storytelling in a unique and beautiful setting. Visitors are personally touched, and their commonest reaction is “impressive”.
