AIDS 2016 Durban, South Africa
It was a great pleasure for Atlas2018 to take part in the 21st International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2016), in Durban, South Africa. The biennial International AIDS Conference truly is the premier meeting where science, leadership and community meet for advancing all facets of our collective efforts to treat and prevent HIV.
For Atlas2018 it was an inspiring and very productive week. We were able to portray great Frontrunners like Edwin Cameron, Lydia Mungherera and Charles Bouchier. We got the opportunity to meet and speak with dozens of PLHIV from all over the world. (See their personal and often touching contributions on Global Village.).

It was a great pleasure but also quite emotional to work with so many members of our community. We are not alone… 18,000 men and women coming together in their effort to end Aids, that’s really something. There’s still a lot to do for all of us, but the conference in Durban was a wonderful and energizing event we’ll carry with us till AIDS2018 in Amsterdam.
Marjolein Annegarn took many great pictures that captured the spirit of this week really well.
